The importance of a sharp lookout is demonstrated constantly on the Oklahoma City.  Timely and accurate reporting contributes to the safe navigation of the ship.  OL Divison, Operations Lookouts, are trusted with this task.  Two trained seamen stand underway watches at all times above the bridge, reporting their findings directly to the bridge and CIC.
OL Division is also a part of the CIC team - recording up-dates of contact movement on status boards.
In port, the seamen of OL serve the Officer of the Deck as messangers.  All of these responsibilities are combined with the maintenance of the foremost spaces on Oklahoma City - thosesurrounding COMSEVENTHFLT and the command working spaces.
