Committee Chair Dave Rice presents a check to Stephanie Chimerziri, Associate Director, American Diabetes Association, for $1,500 to help fight the disease Jon suffered from most of his life.
Committee Members (left to right) Chirs Anderson, Ken Gartzke, Dave Dynes, Agnes Vernon and Dave Rice Jon Rolie, a longtime NDSU Agriculture Communication employee, was a colleague and friend to many in the Fargo/Moorhead/West Fargo area. He retired from NDSU in June 2006 and passed away only months later. Jon’s love of friends and golf was celebrated by holding a golf tournament and picnic in his honor on July 25th, 2007. The golf tournament was followed with a banquet where prizes were awarded and a silent auction was conducted to raise additions funds. Many local businesses and individuals donated money and prizes to help sponsor the event. The committee plans to hold a similar event next summer. |
